Running Into My Fifties…And A Running Giveaway

by Michelle on February 8, 2013

One time.

I ran 3.2 miles all at once, ONE TIME. That was two years ago.

A runner. I want to be a runner. I can do this. I can be a runner.

There are a lot of things I want. BeingĀ a specific size isn’t as important to me as it used to be. Being healthy. That’s important. I want to plow headfirst into my fifties with my head down and my arms tucked in and kick some 5th decade aches and pains right in the ass. I want to climb monkeybars with my grandkids. Not that I can’t now. I can, but it sure as fuck isnt easy. I want walk into a job on a Monday morning and not hate it. I don’t even have to LOVE it, I just want to not hate it. I want to continue to expand my cooking horizons. I want to be a runner. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I like how I feel when I run. I like the way my legs feel kinda itchy when I’m done. I like the way I sweat when I run. I like the way I think when I run.

And now for the giveaway…

Check out Brad Gansberg’s site. He has offered to let me give away his Running 101 programĀ to one of my readers. I’m excited to be able to offer this. Who out there wants to become a runner with me?

If you are interested in receiving Brad’s Running 101 program then leave me a comment. I’ll pick the winners as I have in the past…I let my son do it.

Love this! I have always wanted to run but it totally scares me at the same time. I always came in last when we did the stupid mile in school.

I would love this as I just signed up for a 5K run in April to raise money for the local hospital foundation and a young family that lost the father in an accident earlier in the winter.

I am nervous about learning to run, although I do a lot of other things, like spinning, yoga, and fitness classes. A chance to have some support in this would be amazing! Thanks for hosting the giveaway and good luck.

I’ve signed up for a race in June – my first one back since breaking my leg and having surgery. I could definitely use some guidance getting back to it.

Michelle February 9, 2013 at 2:31 pm

Awesome!! Good luck with the race!

I’ve dreamed of being a runner for years but I need some direction! I’ve lost 70 lbs over the last few years and I want to lose about that much more, and I think running would be a great way to help get that done (along with my healthy diet!) Thank you for doing this!

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us ’0 which is not a hashcash value.

Pshew. Good luck running. NOT for me. We have a treadmill conveniently located in the family room where I can watch our 6′ TV, and before I was to start running I want to see if I can walk that far.

You may have given me the gumption to start walking again. We’ll see.

I could really use this. I’m doing a lot of things by trial and error now. It would be great to have that weekly guidance so I could focus on a specific thing for a week.

Cool! Good luck!

I would LOVE to do this, I’ve always wanted to do the “Color Run”. BUT I’m still recovering from stupid foot surgery and the other one needs it next. SO FRUSTRATING!
You can do it, sister!
